Photo: Truong My Lan/Instagram   The appeal of Vietnamese real estate tycoon Truong My Lan, 68, who was sentenced to death for a $27 billion fraud, started on Monday. Lan, who asked for a "lenient and humane" sentence, was found guilty of scamming the Saigon Commercial Bank (SCB), leading to huge financial losses for thousands of people who had invested their savings in the bank. Lan, wearing a blue shirt, arrived in a Ho Chi Minh City courtroom under tight security for the appeal, which is expected to last three weeks. Along with her request to reduce the death sentence, Lan has also asked to waive a $26.5 million court fee. Stipe Miocic Explains Why He Never Got A Trilogy Fight With Francis Ngannou

Image
Photo: Stipe Miocic/Instagram   Stipe Miocic recently shared his thoughts on why a third fight with Francis Ngannou never happened. The two heavyweights, both UFC legends, fought twice with each winning one fight. Miocic wanted one more fight to settle things, but it never came together. Miocic first fought Ngannou on January 20, 2018. At the time, Ngannou was known for his devastating knockouts, and many thought Miocic would lose. However, Miocic used his wrestling skills to control Ngannou, winning the fight by decision. When they fought again three years later, Ngannou had improved a lot, especially in his wrestling. This time, he knocked Miocic out to win the heavyweight title. Miocic wanted another chance to win the trilogy, but it wasn’t to be. Instead, Ciryl Gane got the next title shot against Ngannou. Photo: Stipe Miocic/Instagram   Stipe Miocic isn’t losing sleep over the backlash he's facing for getting a fight against Jon Jones at UFC 309. Miocic has been out of the ring for over three years, and some fans think interim heavyweight champ Tom Aspinall deserves the spot. But Miocic says the decision wasn’t his. “It wasn’t my choice,” Miocic told MMA Fighting. “I wanted this fight, and the UFC gave it to me. Hideo Kojima Believes ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ Will Be Better Liked In 10-20 Years

Photo: Lady Gaga, Joaquin Phoenix/Instagram   Video game creator Hideo Kojima, famous for "Death Stranding," thinks "Joker: Folie à Deux" may get  more respect  in the future. The movie, which stars Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga , didn’t do well with critics and has only made a bit over $200 million at the box office—much less than the first "Joker" film, which earned over $1 billion. Kojima believes that, with time, people might come to appreciate it. Kojima shared his thoughts on social media, saying the movie opens with an animated sequence like the classic "Looney Tunes." This leads into a story where Joker's identity is questioned—who is he really, and is he even one person? He feels this film goes deeper into who Joker (or Arthur, Joker's alter ego) really is, something that might make audiences think more about hero and villain roles. Kojima commented that today, many movies feature "poetic justice" heroes who fight aga

Trump called Clark "incredible," saying he was impressed by her shooting skills. "She’s unbelievable," he said. "I watch her shot go in, and it’s amazing." During their talk, the focus turned to pay in women’s sports, especially in the WNBA. Clark, who plays for the Indiana Fever, earns a base salary of $76,000 a year. While she also makes money from endorsements, her pay is far below that of top NBA players, who earn millions. Photo: Donald Trump/Instagram   Trump admitted that equal pay in sports is "a very complicated thing." He said that while the league could consider giving standout players like Clark a bonus, it’s hard to change the market. "You can’t go i
