Aljamain Sterling Delays Henry Cejudo Fight Due To Partial Bicep Tear Injury
UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling has announced that he has a partial bicep tear, and that this injury will delay his upcoming fight with Henry Cejudo.
Sterling indicated that he does not anticipate scheduling the fight until he has fully recovered from the injury.
He confirmed that the Cejudo fight is likely next, but that a rumored March date may not be possible due to his injury.
Sterling has been dealing with the partially torn bicep tendon for almost a year and does not plan on surgically repairing it.
Sterling recently defended his bantamweight championship against TJ Dillashaw at UFC 280 in October, and is currently on an eight-fight winning streak.
Cejudo is a former Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling and a former simultaneous two-division UFC champion who retired following six consecutive wins.
