Former UFC Champion Francis Ngannou Announces Boxing Debut In July, Eyes Tyson Fury And Anthony Joshua As Opponents
Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou plans to make his professional boxing debut in July and has expressed interest in fighting against Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua.
Ngannou has been out of action since his last UFC fight in January, where he defended his heavyweight title against Ciryl Gane despite fighting with a knee injury.
After declining a $8 million offer to re-sign with the UFC, Ngannou was stripped of his title and is now a free agent.
In an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Ngannou stated that he is currently working on his debut and hopes to fight at least twice this year.
He also mentioned that he is open to fighting in either boxing or MMA, and that Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua would be ideal opponents.
