According to Mike Coppinger of ESPN, IBF/WBA middleweight champion Gennadiy Golovkin  has "zero interest" in fighting Jaime Munguia, who has targeted him as one of his top opponents for 2023.

Munguia, who is unbeaten with a record of 41-0, 33 KOs, is looking to have a breakout year and has also named Jermall Charlo and Dmitry Bivol as potential opponents.

However, it is unlikely that Munguia will be able to secure fights with any of the three, as Golovkin has not revealed his plans for 2023 and Charlo has not fought in almost two years.

Alternative options for Munguia in 2023 include Chris Eubank Jr, Demetrius Andrade, Erislandy Lara, Felix Cash, David Benavidez, David Morrell, Ryota Murata, and Sergiy Derevyanchenko.
