Kevin Durant To Undergo MRI For Knee Injury Suffered In Nets Victory Against Heat
Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant is expected to undergo an MRI on Monday after sustaining a right knee injury during Sunday's game against the Miami Heat.
The injury occurred when Heat player Jimmy Butler fell on Durant's leg during a drive to the basket.
Coach Jacque Vaughn confirmed the news to reporters. Durant had 17 points and 4 rebounds in 30 minutes of play before the injury.
This season has been marked by injuries for Durant, who has struggled to stay fully healthy since rupturing his Achilles in the 2019 NBA Finals.
He missed the entire 2019-20 season and has had to sit out for periods of time in the past two seasons due to injury.
Despite the presence of talented players like Ben Simmons and Kyrie Irving, Durant is considered one of the best players in the world and his absence is a significant loss for the Nets.
Durant has averaged 30 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game in 38 appearances this season.
