Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has expressed his interest in fighting former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in a two-fight deal.

One fight would take place in the boxing ring and the other in an MMA contest. Wilder says he would get a trainer from the mixed martial arts field to teach him what he needs to know for the battle against the 6'4" Ngannou.

However, it is unknown if Ngannou is interested in facing Wilder as he has not mentioned wanting to take on Wilder in the boxing world.

Ngannou has specifically called out British heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, which he likely views as his best opportunity for financial gain and success in boxing.

Ngannou seemed less enthusiastic about fighting Wilder when asked about it compared to facing Joshua and Fury.

Joshua and Fury are both interested in facing Ngannou, so Wilder may have to wait his turn.
