In 2018, Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker expressed his desire to build a superteam and have it come to him.

At the time, the Suns were struggling and had not had an All-Star since 2012.

Despite this, Booker came to training camp prepared to be the cornerstone of a great Suns team. In 2021, Devin Booker achieved his goal and attracted a superteam to Phoenix.

Chris Paul orchestrated a trade to the Suns from the Oklahoma City Thunder and Kevin Durant insisted on being traded to play with Booker and the Suns.

Both deals were made without any bidding wars or competition. Booker is now an All-NBA First Team talent, MVP candidate and member of Team USA.

The Suns have also been successful, thanks in part to respected coach Monty Williams and front office manager James Jones.

Booker's achievement is notable, as superteams are rarely built through trade, let alone orchestrated by players.
