LeBron James is close to breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's all-time scoring record in the NBA.

On Tuesday night, James will play against the Oklahoma City Thunder, needing only 36 points to surpass Abdul-Jabbar's 38,387 career points.

Tuesday's game has been added to TNT's national TV schedule in anticipation of the record-breaking event.

If James doesn't reach the milestone on Tuesday, he will have another chance on Thursday when the Lakers face the Milwaukee Bucks.

James has said that breaking the all-time scoring record was never a dream of his but is now "pretty crazy" to think that he might achieve it.

Abdul-Jabbar sees records as human achievements and not personal accomplishments and said that he will be there to cheer James on when he breaks his record.

James has scored 36 or more points in nine games this season and is coming off a 41-point performance against the Celtics on January 28th.
