Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) forward Neymar suffered another injury blow as he sprained his ankle during a match against Lille.

The Brazilian scored his team's second goal before leaving the field in tears on a stretcher after colliding with Benjamin Andre.

PSG confirmed that an MRI scan did not reveal any fracture, but a new ligament assessment will be conducted after 48 hours.

Neymar posted a picture of his protective boot on Instagram, expressing his frustration with the caption 'again and again' followed by a tearful emoji.

Neymar has a history of injuries, having previously sustained metatarsal fractures that ruled him out of important matches.

However, reports suggest that his camp is confident he will be back in time to face Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

PSG will have to overturn a 1-0 deficit to progress to the next stage of the competition.

Coach Christophe Galtier acknowledged the demanding fixture schedule played a part in Neymar's latest injury and said the club would assess the severity of the sprain.

PSG faces Marseille and Nantes before their crucial game against Bayern Munich.
