The donation is just one of many McGregor has made to the foundation, totaling nearly $4 million.
McGregor's donation was made in front of a live studio audience, with Hannity announcing that he would also be making a contribution of $100,000 to the foundation.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation was created in honor of FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller, who lost his life while trying to save others on September 11th, 2001.
The foundation's mission is to pay off mortgages for injured veterans, first responders, Gold Star families, and their families across the United States.
Tunnel to Towers CEO Frank Siller expressed his gratitude to McGregor and the foundation's supporters, noting that their contributions allow the organization to fulfill its mission of helping families in need.
Siller shared the story of a Buffalo firefighter who recently passed away in a fire, leaving behind his wife and daughter.
The foundation has committed to paying off their mortgage, thanks in part to the generous donations it has received.
Tunnel to Towers also recently marked Fox News' 25th anniversary by paying off 50 mortgages for families of heroes.
McGregor's donation is yet another example of the impact that individuals and organizations can make in the lives of those who have sacrificed so much for others.
