Kyrie Irving, a guard for the Dallas Mavericks, has responded to the controversy surrounding Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies.

Although the two teams are Western Conference rivals, Irving is not dismissing Morant's situation.

Morant is currently suspended and away from the Grizzlies due to allegations, including waving a gun during an Instagram Live session.

Irving released his own Instagram Live session, discussing Morant's controversy, and while he is not letting him off the hook, he feels that the Grizzlies' guard has been unfairly treated throughout the ordeal.

Irving acknowledges that what Morant did was not acceptable, but he does not agree with the negative reaction Morant received.

He believes that Morant's legal issues have been put on a higher pedestal due to his status as an athlete.

Irving thinks that it is unfair and that Morant should be treated with the same respect as anyone else.

Irving emphasized that everyone makes mistakes, and celebrities should not be held to a different standard.

He added that he would always stand by his family and friends, regardless of the circumstances.

Although Morant's mistake means that he won't be facing Irving on the court anytime soon, Irving hopes that he will be able to move past this controversy and return to playing for the Grizzlies.

Overall, Irving's message is that everyone deserves respect, regardless of their celebrity status or legal issues.

He believes that it is essential to stand by loved ones during difficult times and that everyone makes mistakes.
