The NBA has suspended Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green for one game without pay following an incident during the team's game against the Sacramento Kings.

During the game, Green stepped on the chest of Kings center Domantas Sabonis.

The suspension was announced on Wednesday by Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations.

Green's history of unsportsmanlike behavior was a factor in the decision. The incident occurred after Sabonis grabbed and held onto Green's ankle while falling to the floor.

Green responded by stepping on Sabonis' chest, resulting in a Flagrant Foul 2 and his ejection from the game.

Sabonis was also assessed a technical foul. The incident took place with just over seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter of Game 2 of the teams' first-round playoff series.

The Kings won the game 114-106.
Green will serve his suspension during Game 3 of the series, which will be played on April 20 at the Warriors' home arena, Chase Center.

The Warriors will be hoping to avoid falling behind in the series, as they are currently trailing the Kings 2-0.
