Boston Celtics’ star Jaylen Brown suffered an unusual injury while watering plants earlier this week.

He accidentally dropped a vase and cut his hand while picking up the broken glass, which required stitches.

Brown’s injury almost jeopardized his status for Game 1 against the Hawks.

However, he played in the game, and even though he left briefly due to the reaggravation of his injury, he returned to finish the game.

Brown expressed confidence in his status for Game 2 after the game.
Despite the injury, Brown's performance did not suffer too much during the Celtics’ 112-99 win against the Hawks.

He scored 29 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and made three assists and one steal.

Celtics fans, however, will be relieved if Brown's name is not on the injury report before Game 2.

Brown had a career season and was named to his second All-Star team this year, forming arguably the best duo in the NBA with Jayson Tatum.

Brown's season averages were 26.6 points per game, 6.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.1 steals with shooting splits of 49.1 percent from the field, 33.5 percent from the three-point line, and 76.5 percent from the free-throw line.

For the Celtics to make another Finals run, an effective Brown will be needed.

Game 2 is not until Tuesday, which gives the team some time to ensure Brown's hand is stitched up and okay.

According to Brown himself, his status for the rest of the series should not be in doubt.
