LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar, is not just one of the greatest NBA players ever, but also a successful businessman.

Over the years, James has established a business empire, which includes various media ventures and successful investments, such as becoming a part of the ownership groups of the Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Penguins, and FC Liverpool through the Fenway Sports group.

He has also expressed his interest in owning an NBA team in Las Vegas after his retirement.

Recently, James became the first active NBA player to become a billionaire, but he is known for being frugal and not wanting to spend money on things he deems unnecessary.

One of those things is a blue checkmark on Twitter, which can be obtained by paying a subscription fee of $8 per month for Twitter Blue.

The checkmark originally identified celebrity and media accounts as real, but now, only Twitter Blue subscribers will have the privilege of having a checkmark.

Despite being eligible for the blue checkmark, James has tweeted that he will not be purchasing one and refused to pay Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, for the privilege.

He used a Martin Lawrence reference to hilariously let Musk know that he will not give him any money.

Meanwhile, James' primary focus is getting the Lakers to the playoffs as the regular season nears its end.

Although he recently returned from a foot injury that had him sidelined for four weeks, he has been on a minutes restriction for the two games since his return.

James joked that he has been on a minutes restriction for a decade, but he feels good and should be off it by the end of the Lakers' road trip.
