The NBA has announced the officiating crew for the highly anticipated Game 7 between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals, taking place on Monday.

Scott Foster will serve as the crew chief, alongside Tony Brothers, John Goble, and Kevin Scott, completing the group.

Notably, Foster had officiated Boston's Game 7 victory over Miami in last year's conference finals, as reported by Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press.

However, the news of Foster's presence on the court may not sit well with Heat fans, considering their team's poor record in games he has officiated.

Scott Foster carries a reputation that precedes him, particularly among NBA players. In an anonymous poll conducted by Sam Amick and Josh Robbins of The Athletic, Foster received the most votes as the worst referee in the league.

Interestingly, the category of "Other" received the highest overall total. On the flip side, Brothers emerged as the highest vote-getter for the best referee, while simultaneously being tied with Evan Scott as the second-worst referee according to the poll.

"He's the worst ref to ever do it in the NBA," voiced one player during the exercise. "He takes everything personal. He's awful." Such sentiments highlight the dissatisfaction and frustrations some players have experienced with Foster's officiating style.

Regardless of the outcome of Game 7, it is almost certain that at least one fan base will express discontentment with the officiating, as is often the case during playoff games.
