The NBA is currently gathering more information regarding the incident. This is not the first time Morant has been suspended for this type of behavior.

In March, he was suspended for eight games without pay after flashing what was later found to be someone else's gun in a Colorado strip club.

Following the first incident, the NBA investigated and found that Morant did not have the gun while traveling with the team, and he was not charged with a crime by the police.

However, the league did find his behavior to be "detrimental to the league," and he met with commissioner Adam Silver  to discuss his conduct.

Morant underwent counseling in Florida during his time away from the team and spoke to reporters about needing to be more responsible before returning to the court.

The first incident occurred after a report detailing allegations that Morant had assaulted a teenager and threatened him with a gun during a pickup game at his house the previous summer. He was also accused of threatening the head of security at a Memphis mall in a separate incident.

In April, the Washington Post published a timeline of alleged events from the summer of 2022, claiming that Memphis police had mishandled three reports involving Morant and his family.

As the Grizzlies prepared for their first-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Lakers, Morant filed a countersuit against the teenager for slander, battery, and assault, claiming that the accusations had impacted his chances of making the All-NBA team.

However, he was not selected for the team, which was announced on Wednesday. Despite the off-court distractions, Morant had an impressive season, averaging 26.2 points, 8.1 assists, and 5.9 rebounds while shooting 46.6% from the field and 30.7% from three.

However, his second-seeded Grizzlies were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the seventh-seeded Lakers in six games.
