Manny Pacquiao Offers To Cover Medical Expenses of Boxer Who Collapsed In Ring, Despite Legal Troubles

Boxer Manny Pacquiao has offered to cover the medical expenses of Kenneth Egano, a 22-year-old Filipino boxer who collapsed in the ring during a recent boxing event organized by Pacquiao.

Egano underwent surgery at Imus City Medical Hospital, and Pacquiao reportedly urged his staff to ensure that Egano received all the necessary medical care.

Pacquiao expressed his belief that there is nothing more valuable than human life.

Before the recent incident, Pacquiao was ordered to pay over 4 million pounds to Conor McGregor's management company, Paradigm Sports, following a court case.

Pacquiao initially signed a two-fight deal with Paradigm Sports in 2020, intending to fight former UFC two-weight champion McGregor. However, that fight never materialized.

As a result, a California jury awarded damages in favor of Paradigm Sport totaling 2.63 million pounds that Pacquiao had received, as well as another 1.43 million pounds. This figure could rise to 6.4 million pounds due to legal fees. 

McGregor tweeted that Pacquiao owed a total of 8 million dollars, including 2.9 million dollars in legal fees, which he stated were high but necessary.

Despite the legal troubles and financial losses, Pacquiao has remained committed to his philanthropic efforts.

In addition to his offer to cover Egano's medical expenses, Pacquiao has also been involved in various charitable causes throughout his career, including the construction of homes for the poor, the distribution of food to the needy, and the provision of education to underprivileged children.

Pacquiao's commitment to charitable causes has earned him numerous accolades, including being named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine in 2013.

Pacquiao has also served as a senator in the Philippines since 2016, using his political platform to champion social justice issues.
