It's understandable that the New England Patriots' first home game of the 2023 NFL season against the Philadelphia Eagles, which will honor Tom Brady, is the most expensive ticket of the season on resale sites.

Brady, a future Hall of Fame quarterback, spent over two decades with the Patriots, achieving great success.

According to ESPN, the average ticket price for the game is $807, making it quite costly. The game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5 is the second-highest priced game of the season, with an average ticket price of $501.

The ticket prices vary depending on the platform. On Ticketmaster, the least expensive ticket for the Patriots' home opener is $626, while the most expensive is nearly $5,000 before fees.

On Vividseats, the cheapest tickets are priced at $550, and the most expensive ticket is listed at $18,660. StubHub has the most expensive ticket priced at over $18,000, while the least expensive is $510.

This game holds significance because it will be the first time Brady returns to Gillette Stadium since leaving the Patriots. He previously visited as the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but was on the opposing sideline.

As Brady has retired from the NFL this season, the Patriots have invited him to be honored as a thank you for his two decades of success with the team. The Patriots have named this game the "Thank You Tom Game" and expressed their excitement by tweeting "12 is coming home."

Patriots owner Robert Kraft announced before the NFL schedule was released that Brady would be a guest at the first game.
Kraft praised Brady for his unprecedented success in New England, highlighting his status as the greatest player in the history of the game.

Kraft also mentioned that this game is just the beginning of many celebrations for Brady, indicating that there will be more opportunities for Patriots fans to show their appreciation for him.
