Spencer Reaves, the brother of Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves, took to Twitter to address a recent rumor suggesting that Austin had been seen with renowned singer-songwriter Taylor Swift at a bar in Arkansas.

Considering that Austin attended high school in Arkansas, it's possible that this connection sparked the speculation. However, Spencer Reaves appeared unconvinced that his brother was involved with the 12-time Grammy Award winner, especially given that Swift is recently single.

The fact that such rumors are circulating demonstrates the increasing prominence of Austin Reaves within the Lakers organization, as he has rapidly become a recognizable name across the NBA.

As Austin approaches restricted free agency this offseason, many expect him to receive a substantial contract offer, potentially reaching a maximum deal of around $100 million over four years. Several insiders within the league believe he has the talent to secure such an offer on the open market.

Fortunately for Lakers fans, reports suggest that the team is determined to match any offer Austin Reaves receives, indicating their commitment to keeping him in Los Angeles for the 2023-24 season. Despite going undrafted, Reaves proved his worth after being signed by the Lakers as an undrafted free agent, showcasing his skills throughout the season.

The 25-year-old guard contributed significantly, averaging 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game while shooting impressively at 52.9 percent from the field and 39.8 percent from beyond the arc.

Reaves particularly shined when LeBron James was absent from the lineup towards the end of the 2022-23 regular season, solidifying his position as a starter. His performance marked a significant improvement from his rookie season, where he averaged 7.3 points per game while shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 31.7 percent from three-point range.

Although Spencer Reaves seems skeptical of his brother's rumored connection with Swift, there's no denying the impact such a pairing would have as a power couple.

Lakers fans, however, are primarily concerned with Austin Reaves focusing on self-improvement during the offseason to enhance the team's chances of contending for a championship in the coming seasons.
