Gervonta Davis Taken Into Custody To Serve Remaining Sentence In Jail For 2020 Hit-and-Run Case
Gervonta Davis, the professional boxer and holder of the WBA (Regular) lightweight title, has been taken into custody to serve the remaining portion of his 90-day sentence in jail.
The decision came after a judge, Althea Handy, held an impromptu court hearing on Thursday, where she made the ruling.
Davis had initially been ordered on May 5 to serve three months of home detention for his involvement in a hit-and-run crash in 2020 that caused injuries to four individuals, including a pregnant woman.

Alongside the home detention, Handy also mandated that Davis complete 200 hours of community service, a program at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, and participate in a Mothers Against Drunk Driving victim impact panel.
During his home detention, Davis had been residing at the residence of his trainer, Calvin Ford, after reportedly purchasing a penthouse condominium worth $3.4 million in Baltimore.
Last month, prosecutors dropped a domestic violence case against Davis when the alleged victim decided not to pursue charges.
The incident involved accusations from the mother of his child, claiming that he had assaulted her during an altercation in Broward County, Florida, in December.
Despite the legal issues, Davis recently achieved a seventh-round TKO victory over Ryan Garcia in April, maintaining his undefeated record of 29-0.
While his next fight has yet to be announced, Davis continues to face legal consequences for his involvement in the hit-and-run case.
