NBA enthusiasts have come to expect unfiltered opinions from Kevin Garnett, and this time he decided to offer brotherly advice to one of the league's prominent stars who has been plagued by a series of missteps.

Taking a moment with his former Celtics teammate, Tony Allen, the two engaged in a conversation revolving around Ja Morant.

The young Grizzlies sensation is facing a 25-game suspension at the onset of the 2023-24 season due to his second offense of displaying a handgun on Instagram Live.

Garnett, a revered figure in basketball history, candidly expressed his sentiments on KG Certified, emphasizing the importance of consistent professionalism.

"You can't cherry-pick when to be a professional, young fella," Garnett stated. "You need to strive for improvement and surround yourself with individuals who will support your growth."

Morant's choice of companions has been a subject of extensive discussion since his initial misstep, and Allen also addressed this concern.

He stressed the significance of having the right people around, clichéd as it may sound, who can provide guidance and hold Morant accountable. "You need individuals who will have the courage to point out your mistakes and call you out when you're in the wrong," Allen commented.

Having won an NBA championship alongside Garnett in 2008 before joining the Grizzlies in 2010, Allen established himself as one of the league's premier defenders and a reliable veteran presence.

With the hope that Morant heeds their advice, their shared wisdom may prove invaluable to the young star's development.
