Argentine Soccer Star Yamila Rodriguez Flaunts Cristiano Ronaldo Tattoo at Women's World Cup, Preferring Him Over Lionel Messi

Meet Yamila Rodriguez, the Argentine soccer star who has chosen Cristiano Ronaldo over Lionel Messi, an uncommon choice in her country.

During Argentina's Women's World Cup opener against Italy, the 25-year-old, who is heavily tattooed, proudly displayed Ronaldo's profile inked on her left shin. The tattoo represents a paradox as Ronaldo and Messi have vied for the title of the greatest player over the past decades.

However, Rodriguez has been vocal about her admiration for Ronaldo, considering him the best player in the world. Despite her preference for Ronaldo, Rodriguez hasn't ignored her country's soccer success.

She also has a tribute to Argentine legend Diego Maradona on her thigh, featuring his profile, signature, and three stars to represent Argentina's World Cup wins in 1978, 1986, and Messi's victory last year.

Rodriguez has had remarkable success on the field, earning her place on the Argentine roster for this year's Women's World Cup after an unforgettable period with Boca Juniors, where she became the first woman to score at La Bombonera and reached the Copa Libertadores final.

Unfortunately, Argentina's opening defeat to Italy dealt a blow to their hopes of progressing from the group stage. Rodriguez will now need to rally her team to defeat South Africa and advance further in the tournament.

While South Africa ranks 26 places below Argentina according to FIFA, they demonstrated their capabilities in their opener against Sweden with a near-upset. The Argentine team aims to secure their first-ever victory in a Women's World Cup and will rely on Rodriguez's skills and passion for the game to achieve their goal.
