In a highly-anticipated episode of "TUF 31," Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler engaged in a physical altercation that was finally aired on Tuesday.

Prior to this episode, teaser clips had been circulating for weeks, creating anticipation among viewers. The altercation occurred after the sixth bout of the reality series, where McGregor's teammate Lee Hammond secured a come-from-behind victory over Chandler's team member Kurt Holobaugh.

The catalyst for the confrontation was Chandler's verbal jabs, which seemed to strike a nerve with McGregor. After McGregor's team achieved a flawless 6-0 record for the season, Chandler criticized McGregor's apparent absence during various moments of the show's filming.

McGregor retaliated by launching derogatory insults towards Bellator, the organization Chandler was associated with before joining the UFC in January 2021. When the two fighters confronted each other face-to-face, McGregor forcefully shoved Chandler with both hands, causing him to stagger backward.

Chandler responded with a mix of laughter and excitement, while McGregor removed his suit jacket. UFC president Dana White swiftly intervened, entering the cage to separate the fighters.

After the incident, both McGregor and Chandler returned to their respective locker rooms. As Chandler passed by Team McGregor, he expressed a sarcastic remark, saying, "I would've been there for you."

McGregor, visibly frustrated, shouted insults at Cody Gibson and Roosevelt Roberts from Team Chandler as he walked away, labeling them as "bums." McGregor's frustrations, along with those of his coaching staff and team consisting of bantamweight and lightweight prospects, continued to mount.

They had yet to secure a victory against Chandler and his team of UFC alumni. The upcoming seventh episode of the season will air next Tuesday on ESPN and will showcase the second-to-last quarterfinal bout.

The finale fights are expected to be featured in UFC 292, which is scheduled for August 19 at TD Garden in Boston, as recently revealed by MMA Junkie.
