Shakur Stevenson expressed strong disagreement with the outcome of George Kambosos Jr's victory over Maxi Hughes in a twelve-round majority decision last Saturday.

He believed it was a clear case of robbery, with the wrong fighter declared the winner in their IBF lightweight title eliminator at the Firelake Arena in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Many ringside fans and social media users shared Shakur's sentiment, as they saw Hughes as the true winner.

The judges, however, scored it in favor of Kambosos with scores of 114-114, 117-111, and 115-113. According to Shakur, Hughes completely outclassed Kambosos, making him look like a second-tier fighter with his superior boxing skills.

He was baffled by the judges' decision and felt they should be held to higher standards, focusing more on the fighters and becoming more knowledgeable in their role as judges. Shakur also expressed his reluctance to fight Kambosos next, fearing that a bout against someone coming off a controversial win could taint his reputation and label him as a cherry picker.

When asked about potential future opponents, Shakur expressed his desire to face the best in the division, such as Devin Haney, Vasily Lomachenko, and Gervonta Davis. He aimed to prove his worth against top-level fighters and show the world his capabilities.

With the possibility of Devin Haney vacating the title, Shakur saw an opportunity to demonstrate his skills against Lomachenko and establish himself as a formidable force in the division. Despite some back-and-forth banter between Shakur and Kambosos' camp, Shakur remained steadfast in his pursuit of facing the best fighters and proving himself as a dominant force in the lightweight division.

The controversial decision overshadowed Maxi Hughes' impressive performance and raised concerns about the judging criteria in boxing, leaving many fans frustrated and disappointed with the outcome of the fight.
