Ja Morant, the star player of the Memphis Grizzlies, expressed his excitement about the team's recent move.

The Grizzlies made a significant decision to extend Desmond Bane, a rising star, by agreeing to a five-year, $207 million contract extension, as reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Despite taking a break from social media for most of the summer, Morant took to Twitter to react to this major development.

Morant and Bane have established themselves as one of the NBA's best backcourts. With Morant's exceptional talent, Bane has complemented him remarkably well, averaging 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game in the previous season.

Bane also showcased his prowess as one of the league's top three-point shooters, converting an impressive 40.8% of his attempts from deep.

While the $207 million contract extension may seem like a hefty sum for a player who has never been an All-Star, Bane recently turned 25 years old and possesses the potential to become one.

Even at his current level of production, Bane is an ideal guard alongside Morant and has proven his ability to step up as a primary scoring option when Morant is absent.

The Grizzlies are committed to building around their core trio of Morant, Bane, and Jaren Jackson Jr., the Defensive Player of the Year, who is just 23 years old.

Extending Bane's contract is the initial step in this process, and Memphis hopes to continue acquiring the necessary pieces to strengthen an already solid group of players.
