Titans' Treylon Burks Faces Setback With LCL Sprain In NFL Training Camp
In a reassuring turn of events, the severity of Treylon Burks' knee injury appears to be less significant than initially feared.
The wide receiver for the Tennessee Titans, who was taken off the field on a cart during a joint practice with the Minnesota Vikings, has been diagnosed with a sprained LCL, as reported by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
Although the injury caused initial concern, the latest update suggests that Burks will likely only miss a few weeks of action. The incident occurred when Burks successfully caught a deep pass from Ryan Tannehill during the joint practice session.
While making his way into the end zone, he stumbled and subsequently fell, limping as he got back on his feet. Medical personnel assisted Burks off the field, providing immediate attention before he was transported on a cart.

Ryan Tannehill expressed his concern, stating, "You hate seeing that... Our thoughts and prayers are with him right now, and hopefully it’s not too bad," according to Turron Davenport of ESPN.
Ian Rapoport's update indicates that Burks is expected to be sidelined for a brief period, likely just a few weeks. This timeline becomes significant considering that the Titans are scheduled to kick off their season against the New Orleans Saints on September 10, which is slightly over three weeks away.

The uncertainty lies in whether Burks will recover in time for Week 1. In the 2022 season, the 23-year-old Burks accumulated 444 receiving yards and secured one touchdown in 11 games. His journey began when he was selected as the 18th overall pick by the Titans in the previous year's draft, having played college football at Arkansas.
As the Titans and Vikings prepare for their upcoming preseason matchup on Saturday, all eyes will be on Burks' recovery progress and his potential availability for the early games of the season.
