Philadelphia 76ers' Kelly Oubre Jr. Struck By Vehicle, Hospitalized With Injuries

In a shocking turn of events, 76ers guard Kelly Oubre Jr. was struck by a vehicle on Saturday evening near his residence in downtown Philadelphia. 

The incident occurred at the intersection of Broad and Locust streets in Center City around 7 p.m.

Oubre, 27, sustained undisclosed injuries and was promptly transported to Jefferson Hospital in stable condition.

Fortunately, he was released from the hospital a few hours later, but the Sixers anticipate him missing a significant amount of playing time. 

While the team reassures fans that Oubre is not expected to be sidelined for the entire season, specific details about his injuries remain undisclosed.


The Philadelphia Police have launched an active investigation into the incident, revealing that Oubre was hit while crossing the street, and noted that a silver vehicle fled the scene. 

The 15th overall pick of the 2015 draft is currently in his first season with the 76ers, boasting an average of 16.8 points in the first eight games.

The Sixers are scheduled to play against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, grappling with the absence of Oubre as they await further updates on his recovery.
