In a recent revelation on ESPN's Hoop Collective podcast, an anonymous NBA scout bestowed high praise upon Minnesota Timberwolves' All-Star Anthony Edwards, dubbing him "the next Michael Jordan."

ESPN's Tim MacMahon shared the scout's comments, emphasizing Edwards' remarkable start to the 2023 season. Despite initial skepticism, MacMahon acknowledged the scout's bold comparison, stating, "Yeah, but it ain't too far off."

Edwards has been lighting up the court, averaging an impressive 27.9 points per game in the first seven contests of the season, showcasing remarkable shooting percentages from the field, three-point range, and the free-throw line.

Edwards' offensive prowess is matched by his outstanding defensive contributions, with the Timberwolves currently holding the league's best defensive rating at 100.4, according to NBA.com.

His defensive improvement was highlighted in a recent overtime victory against the Boston Celtics, where he held his ground despite facing foul trouble, sealing the game with a defensive play and clutch shots.

While acknowledging that comparisons to Michael Jordan might be premature in his career, there is no denying that Edwards, the 2020 No. 1 overall pick, has rapidly evolved into one of the NBA's premier two-way players.

The Timberwolves' 5-2 record and their league-leading defensive rating further underscore Edwards' significant impact on the team's success.
