In a stunning display of offensive prowess, Tyrese Maxey led the Philadelphia 76ers to a 137-126 victory over the Indiana Pacers, securing an impressive 8-1 start to the season.

Maxey's career-high 50 points, coupled with Joel Embiid's remarkable 37-point, 13-rebound, seven-assist contribution, marked a highlight reel for the 76ers in this young NBA season.

The 76ers' 8-1 record is their best start since 2001 when they achieved a remarkable 10-0 record on their way to the NBA Finals.

Maxey's explosive performance comes amid the absence of James Harden, solidifying his role as a potent offensive force for the team.

Efficient and dynamic, Maxey connected on 20 of 32 field goals, including an impressive 7 of 11 from 3-point range. His well-rounded effort included seven rebounds, five assists, and three blocks, elevating his early-season All-NBA candidacy.

Maxey's 50-point milestone surpassed his previous high of 44 points, showcasing his growth and impact on the court. The game opened with Maxey setting the tone, scoring with a floater just 15 seconds into the matchup, contributing to the 76ers' commanding 38-27 first-quarter lead.

Teammates, including Joel Embiid, celebrated Maxey's outstanding performance with accolades and a post-game water bath. In a touching gesture, Maxey dedicated his exceptional effort to teammate Kelly Oubre Jr., who is recovering from injuries sustained in a car accident the previous night.

"This had nothing to do with me," Maxey humbly stated postgame. "This is all Kelly Oubre. We're praying for him. Love my dawg. I just met him, but I love him. I hope he gets well soon."

Maxey's emergence as a key offensive weapon for the 76ers adds a layer of excitement to the team's decision to trade for him. Averaging 28.6 points, 7.2 assists, and 5.4 rebounds through nine games, Maxey is on a mission to earn his first All-Star nod this season, building on his impressive breakout performance last year.
