In a stunning playoff performance, Baker Mayfield, battling through rib and ankle injuries, led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a convincing 32-9 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in the wild-card round.

Despite being 3.5-point underdogs at home, Mayfield showcased resilience, throwing for 337 yards and three touchdowns.

Mayfield's determination was evident, having sustained a rib injury two weeks ago and an ankle injury just last week. Bringing in his personal physiotherapist twice during the week to aid his recovery, Mayfield's limited practice time didn't hinder his on-field excellence.

Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles praised Mayfield's grit, acknowledging his visible struggles during the week but emphasizing his unwavering commitment to the game plan. Despite facing four sacks, Mayfield delivered play after play, earning accolades from teammates and coaches alike.

Even with six drops from receiving targets in the first half, Mayfield's positive energy and encouragement on the sideline kept the team focused. Tight end Cade Otton, who led the team with 89 receiving yards, highlighted how the team emulates Mayfield's competitive spirit.

The game saw a 44-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver David Moore, field goals from kicker Chase McLaughlin, a safety from Anthony Nelson, and touchdowns to rookie Trey Palmer and wide receiver Chris Godwin.

Looking ahead, the Buccaneers face the Detroit Lions in the divisional round as underdogs once again. Mayfield, unfazed by external opinions, remains focused on bigger goals after a tumultuous journey that saw him traded, cut, and eventually signed by the Bucs.

The upcoming matchup against the Lions, who defeated the Bucs earlier in the season, is viewed by the team as a "revenge tour." Inside linebacker Devin White emphasized the team's belief in each other, stating that external predictions won't determine the outcome on the field. As the underdogs again, the Buccaneers remain resolute, ready to prove themselves in pursuit of their playoff ambitions. (Source: ESPN)
