Despite the adjustment period, Thompson expressed understanding, stating, "To go from one of the best players - It's hard for anybody. I'll be honest with you."

When questioned about his initial reaction to being benched, Thompson admitted to some frustration but stressed his acceptance of the situation. "You can be mad, but I'm not gonna be mad. I'm happy for these young guys. We won. It's hard to get wins in this league," he said.

Despite the challenging adjustment, Thompson maintains a supportive stance toward his teammates, even when they play in his place during crucial moments.

Head coach Steve Kerr reassured that Thompson's contributions would play a significant role in the team's success throughout the season, emphasizing the bigger picture beyond individual game situations. (SOURCE: Sports Illustrated)
