Los Angeles Lakers Secure Spencer Dinwiddie In Latest Free Agent Signing

The Los Angeles Lakers strategically enhance their roster by formally securing the services of free agent guard Spencer Dinwiddie, with the announcement made today by Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Rob Pelinka.

The 6’5”, 212-pound Los Angeles native comes to the Lakers after making significant contributions in 48 games (all starts) for the Brooklyn Nets this season. 

Dinwiddie showcased his skills with averages of 12.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 6.0 assists in 30.7 minutes on the court.

Bringing a wealth of experience from his 514 career NBA games, Dinwiddie, now 30, has played for various teams, including Brooklyn, Dallas, Washington, and Detroit. Throughout his career, he has maintained averages of 13.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 5.3 assists in 28.0 minutes.

Having participated in 28 NBA Playoff contests, Dinwiddie's postseason performance highlights his ability to step up under pressure, with averages of 14.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists.

Vice President Rob Pelinka expressed excitement about Dinwiddie's return to his hometown, emphasizing his play-making skills and aggressive approach. Pelinka sees Dinwiddie as a valuable addition to provide depth as the Lakers make a strong push in the back-half of the season.

Selected in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons, Dinwiddie, a graduate of Los Angeles' William Howard Taft High School, brings a sense of homecoming as he dons jersey No. 26 for the purple and gold. Pelinka concluded, "Welcome home, Spencer." (SOURCE: NBA)
