Amidst a solemn development, the Miami Heat's standout forward, Jimmy Butler, has been given leave by the team after the unfortunate loss of a family member.

Butler's absence was notably felt during Miami's 110-106 loss to the Boston Celtics on Sunday, where he missed the game due to personal reasons.

The Heat organization expressed their condolences and support for Butler during this difficult time.

The duration of Butler's leave remains uncertain, leaving the team without a key player as they face upcoming matchups against Milwaukee and Philadelphia this week, just before the All-Star break.

Injuries have already plagued the 34-year-old Butler's season, restricting him to 37 games. Despite these setbacks, he continues to lead the Heat in scoring with an impressive average of 21 points per game.
