Patrick Mahomes Sr., father of star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has been arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated, marking his third offense, just days ahead of the Chiefs' Super Bowl showdown against the San Francisco 49ers.

Mahomes Sr. previously faced DWI charges in 2018, resulting in a guilty plea and a 40-day jail term.

His history includes DUI charges in 1994 and an arrest for public intoxication in 2016 during a game between TCU and Texas Tech, where his son played college football.

With the arrest coming a week before the pivotal game in Las Vegas, questions arise about Mahomes Sr.'s attendance. Despite his previous plans to be there, the incident adds an unexpected twist to the Chiefs' preparations.

Patrick Mahomes, seeking his third ring in just seven seasons, has garnered praise from his father, who acknowledges the rarity of such success.

However, Mahomes Sr. refrains from placing his son in the GOAT conversation, acknowledging the legends like Tom Brady and Joe Montana.

Reflecting on his son's achievements, Mahomes Sr. expressed awe at Patrick's rapid rise but remains cautious about comparing him to Brady and Montana, stating, "He still has a ways to go." (SOURCE: Breacher Report)
