Former NBA forward Stephen Jackson vehemently responded to comments made by free agent guard Austin Rivers in a recent social media exchange, expressing reservations about Bronny James playing alongside his father, LeBron James, in the NBA.

In a comment on a Sideline Sports Instagram post, Jackson dismissed Rivers, saying, "Difference is you trash, Bronny not. You can't compare to him scrub." He continued, "And your daddy not LeBron. Shut up."

Rivers, speaking to ESPN's Malika Andrews on NBA Today, voiced concerns about the potential scrutiny Bronny might face if he played alongside his father, drawing parallels to his own experience playing for his father, then-Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers.

While Rivers emphasized his desire to see Bronny on a contending team, Jackson, seemingly protective of the young player, saw fit to challenge Rivers' remarks.

The debate centers around whether playing with a basketball legend like LeBron James would be a burden or a blessing for Bronny's career. Rivers, drawing from his own experience, expressed concerns about the potential negativity, while acknowledging Bronny's talent and potential.

The ongoing discussion unfolds as Bronny James navigates his first year at USC, displaying resilience after a health scare during a July basketball workout. Despite modest statistics, he has shown progress on the court, particularly in distributing the ball.

As USC looks ahead to upcoming road matchups against Cal and Stanford, the controversy sparked by Rivers' comments adds another layer to the narrative surrounding Bronny James' promising basketball journey. (SOURCE: Breacher Report)
