According to an ESPN report, Lacob initiated contact with Buss, but a deal hinged on LeBron James' interest in leaving Los Angeles.

The inquiry, fueled by LeBron's cryptic social media post, involved Warriors' player Draymond Green urging the team to pursue the alliance with James.

However, LeBron's agent, Rich Paul, conveyed the star's commitment to the Lakers, shutting down any trade possibilities.

The Warriors contemplated various trade scenarios, including offering future first-round picks, Chris Paul, Andrew Wiggins, or even Klay Thompson

The Lakers might have sought promising young talent like Jonathan Kuminga in return.
The Warriors weren't alone in courting LeBron. Philadelphia 76ers' President Daryl Morey also reached out, inquiring about a potential trade, but the Lakers swiftly rejected the proposal.

Morey, known for bold moves, explored various options, including a call to the Phoenix Suns regarding Kevin Durant's availability.

Despite the unsuccessful attempts, the NBA remains on edge as LeBron James' future with the Lakers is still uncertain. While no deal materialized, the league awaits potential offseason moves, with the possibility of further attempts to acquire the basketball icon. (SOURCE: CBS Sports)
