During their game against the Atlanta Hawks, Andrew Wiggins suffered a left ankle injury in a setback for the Golden State Warriors after a collision with Clint Capela.

Wiggins did not return for the second half, raising concerns about the extent of the injury. Brandin Podziemski stepped into the starting lineup in his absence.

Anthony Slater of The Athletic reported on the uncertainty surrounding Wiggins' return, as he was visibly limping after the collision.

While Wiggins had shown glimpses of his capabilities in recent games, this injury adds to the Warriors' ongoing challenges with player injuries.

In the last 10 games, Wiggins had been contributing significantly, averaging 13.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.5 assists with shooting percentages of 49/35/80. Despite this, his performance has seen a dip compared to his career averages, posing a challenge for the Warriors moving forward.

The Warriors, known for navigating through injuries, will rely on a 'next-man-up' approach. Brandin Podziemski and Jonathan Kuminga are expected to see increased playing time in Wiggins' absence.

With trade rumors surrounding Wiggins even before the injury, the team faces uncertainties as they navigate through this challenging period. The hope remains that Wiggins' ankle injury won't sideline him for an extended period. (SOURCE: Sports Illustrated)
