After a two-year absence from the NBA, veteran guard Isaiah Thomas is poised to make a comeback with the Phoenix Suns.

Reports from The Athletic's Shams Charania indicate that Thomas, aged 35, is finalizing a deal to sign a 10-day contract with the Suns.

Thomas last appeared in the NBA with the Charlotte Hornets in April 2022, where he showcased his skills in 17 games, averaging 8.3 points per game in limited minutes.

Following his tenure with the Hornets, Thomas embarked on a stint with the Salt Lake City Stars, the G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, where he displayed remarkable performance, averaging 32.5 points in four games.

The news of Thomas' return to the NBA comes after his impressive showing for the Stars, including a standout performance of 34 points just hours before the announcement of his contract with the Suns.

Despite facing challenges, including a significant hip injury in 2017 that affected his playing style, Thomas remained determined to pursue his passion for basketball.

In a recent interview with The Athletic, Thomas expressed his unwavering commitment to the game, emphasizing his love for basketball and the joy of playing pain-free once again.

With his impending return to the NBA, Isaiah Thomas aims to make a significant impact on the court and contribute to the Phoenix Suns' quest for success in the league. Stay tuned for further updates as Thomas prepares to don the Suns' jersey once again.
