All-Star forward Scottie Barnes is facing an indefinite absence from the court after breaking the middle finger on his left hand during Friday night's clash against Golden State.

The 2021-22 Kia Rookie of the Year sustained a fracture to the 3rd metacarpal bone, forcing him to exit the game in the second quarter.

Barnes, a first-time All-Star this season, has been a standout performer, averaging career highs of 20 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists.

The injury occurred just before halftime, disrupting his impressive streak of five consecutive double-doubles.

Toronto coach Darko Rajakovic expressed the challenges posed by Barnes' absence, emphasizing the need for adjustments in player lineups.

Kelly Olynyk stepped in for Barnes during the third period of the game. The Raptors, currently on a four-game homestand, are set to face the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday night.

With a record of 22-38 and two consecutive losses, Toronto will need to navigate through challenges without their star player in the upcoming matchups. (Source: NBA)
