D’Angelo Russell Upset Over Overturned Foul In Game 2 Loss To Nuggets

The Los Angeles Lakers faced a tough loss against the Denver Nuggets on Monday night.

Jamal Murray made a last-second shot over Anthony Davis to seal a 20-point comeback and give the Nuggets a 2-0 series lead.

Despite a better performance from D’Angelo Russell, the Lakers couldn't stop Murray, Nikola Jokic, and Michael Porter Jr.

The Lakers were up by 20 points at one stage and led by 11 going into the final quarter. But, as with many close playoff games, the referees' decisions came under scrutiny. A foul on Russell by Porter in the fourth quarter was initially called, but after a review, the call was overturned, giving Denver possession instead.

Russell expressed his frustration on social media, saying missed calls gave the Nuggets momentum and took it away from the Lakers. He also mentioned the Lakers tried to maintain their lead but missed some key shots when the Nuggets made their move.

Despite the controversial call, the Lakers also have to take responsibility for blowing a big lead and failing to score in the last six minutes, except for some tough shots from LeBron James.

Looking ahead to Game 3 in Los Angeles, the Lakers might get a boost with Jarred Vanderbilt possibly returning to the lineup. The Lakers need to improve their late-game execution as they try to turn the series around.
