Domantas Sabonis, the Sacramento Kings' powerhouse, saw his remarkable double-double streak come to an end after an impressive 61-game run.

The last time Sabonis fell short of this feat was on Nov. 28, 2023, during a match against the Golden State Warriors.

In a thrilling game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander stole the spotlight with an incredible performance.

Gilgeous-Alexander, returning from injury, scored a whopping 40 points, leading the Thunder to a remarkable comeback victory over the Kings, who had held a 20-point lead earlier in the game.

Despite the setback for Sabonis and the Kings, D’Aaron Fox managed to shine, contributing 33 points, while Keon Ellis added a career-high 26 points to the Kings' efforts. Sabonis, known for his consistency, recorded eight points and 13 rebounds during the game.

The matchup held significant stakes for both teams, with the Thunder vying for a higher seed in the Western Conference, trailing the Minnesota Timberwolves by a single game. Meanwhile, the Kings aimed to secure their spot in the playoffs, sitting at eighth place in the conference standings with hopes of avoiding the Play-In Tournament.

Sabonis' resilience and consistent performance have been a driving force for the Kings this season, despite the streak ending. Fans will undoubtedly be eager to see how he bounces back in the team's upcoming games.
