Kawhi Leonard has been confirmed as the final member of Team USA's basketball roster for the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris. The

LA Clippers star completes the 12-man squad, joining basketball legends like LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant.

The news was finalized less than 24 hours after ESPN reported that 11 spots had been filled. According to sources from The Athletic, Leonard's inclusion was confirmed after a meeting with USA Basketball Managing Director Grant Hill.

Leonard will team up with other NBA stars, including guards Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker, Jrue Holiday, Tyrese Haliburton, and Anthony Edwards. For the frontcourt, big men Bam Adebayo and Anthony Davis will join forces with Leonard and James.

Despite not playing since March 31 due to a knee issue, Leonard's selection has surprised some fans. Meanwhile, Jalen Brunson, who had a standout season with the New York Knicks, missed out on the final spot. Brunson's impressive performance saw him averaging 28.7 points and 6.7 assists per game this season.

The Clippers finished the season with a 51-31 record and secured the fourth seed in the Western Conference. Leonard himself averaged 23.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game.

Other notable players in the initial player pool released in January include Leonard's teammates James Harden and Paul George, along with Damian Lillard, Donovan Mitchell, and Jimmy Butler.
