New York Knicks forward Julius Randle is facing season-ending surgery on his right shoulder, following a dislocation suffered on January 27th.
Despite hopes of a postseason return, Randle's rehabilitation efforts fell short, leading to the decision for surgery.
The team anticipates reevaluating his condition in five months.
Randle's absence adds to the Knicks' injury woes, with fellow player OG Anunoby also sidelined due to a right elbow injury.
However, the team saw a recent boost with the return of center Mitchell Robinson after a lengthy absence.
Julius Randle will have surgery on his right shoulder. He will be re-evaluated in 5 months.

Randle, a 2024 All-Star, leaves behind a significant statistical footprint for the season, averaging 24 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 5 assists over 46 games.
Despite these setbacks, the fifth-seeded Knicks (44-31) remain determined in their push towards the playoffs.
