Former NBA player Nate Robinson is in urgent need of a kidney transplant to survive.

The former slam dunk champion has been battling kidney failure for six years and fears he may not have much time left if he doesn't receive a replacement organ soon.

"I know that I don't have long if I can't get a kidney," Robinson revealed in an interview with the Daily Mail. "I know I'm not going to have long to live. So I just want to make the best of it as much as I can."

Robinson first disclosed his renal kidney failure struggle in 2022, after privately dealing with it for four years. Despite the challenges, he has been determined to raise awareness and be a voice for others facing similar health issues.

Using a dialysis machine to clean his blood and remove toxins has become a lifeline for Robinson. He undergoes dialysis sessions for four hours, three days a week, without which he believes he wouldn't survive for more than a week or two.

While the treatment sometimes leads to painful vomiting and hospitalization, Robinson remains grateful for the chance it gives him to live. He strives to maintain a sense of normalcy in his life by eating healthier and staying positive, expressing his desire to be an inspiration for others facing similar battles.

"It's got me to slow down a lot where I can take my time to appreciate life itself," Robinson shared on the OG Show. "Dealing with this situation with my kidneys, it's opened my eyes where I can talk about it and help others."

Robinson's resilience in the face of adversity serves as a reminder of the importance of perseverance and appreciation for life's blessings.
