68-Year-Old Sugar Ray Leonard Shows Off Impressive Fitness, But Fans Urge Him Not To Fight Jake Paul

Sugar Ray Leonard, the 68-year-old former boxing champion, is proving that age is just a number. The legendary boxer recently posted a workout video on Instagram, showcasing his impressive speed and agility. 

Leonard, who holds a professional record of 40 fights with 36 wins and 25 knockouts, remains one of the greatest boxers of all time, nearly five decades after his debut.

Despite retiring 27 years ago, Leonard's recent video displays his quick jabs, crosses, and uppercuts, surprising many with his maintained prowess. He captioned the video, "Starting off the week in beast mode!!" This has led some to wonder if he might consider a comeback, similar to Mike Tyson, who is set to fight Jake Paul.

However, fans are adamant that Leonard should not follow Tyson's footsteps. They believe that boxing is a young man’s game and worry about the risks involved for someone his age. "Stay out the ring; don’t be like Mike Tyson," one fan commented. Another added, "Please stay outside the ring, Champ; you already have a legacy of boxing and are a people's champ around the world."

Leonard's workout video has been well-received, especially given his history of health issues, including a battle with diabetes. His efforts to stay fit have been inspiring to many. Meanwhile, Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are scheduled to fight on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The match, originally set for July 20, was postponed due to Tyson's health issues. The fight will be streamed exclusively on Netflix, marking a first for the platform.
