Terence Crawford, at 36 years old, is focused on legacy-defining fights. None could be bigger than a showdown with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.
Crawford made history by becoming the first male fighter to be undisputed in two weight divisions during the four-belt era. He’s fresh off a dominant win against Errol Spence Jr., stopping him in the ninth round.
Since then, Crawford has set his sights on Canelo, another undisputed champion who fights three weight classes above Crawford's last bout.

Despite previously dismissing the idea, Canelo, 33, is now open to the fight—if the money is right. Speaking at a No Golf, No Life event, Canelo stated:
“Crawford is a great fighter, obviously, three divisions below. As I’ve said before, I’ve fought bigger guys in my category, smaller guys, older guys, younger guys. At the end of the day, I was born to fight and I’ll fight anyone, obviously on terms that suit me best. At this point in my career I’ll always make the best fights but they have to benefit me. It depends on the money, but why not?”
Saudi Arabian sports promoter Turki Alalshikh, who controls boxing in the region, is known for offering massive purses to make big fights happen. Canelo vs. Crawford is at the top of his list, meaning Canelo might just get the financial terms he’s looking for.
