Delonte West, a former NBA guard, was arrested early Thursday morning in Virginia on two misdemeanor charges. He was taken into custody for violating the conditions of his release and resisting arrest, according to local authorities.
West, 40, is currently held at the Fairfax County Detention Center on a $2,000 bond. He is set to appear in court for arraignment at 8:30 a.m. EST on Friday.
The incident began around 1 a.m. when Fairfax County police tried to serve a warrant on West in Groveton, Virginia. After a brief chase, officers found him unresponsive.

They administered Narcan, a medication used for opioid overdoses, but it did not work initially. West was taken to a local hospital, where Narcan was given again and successfully revived him. He was then moved to the detention center.
West, who has publicly discussed his battle with bipolar disorder, has struggled with substance abuse in recent years. In 2021, he received treatment at a Florida rehab center and later worked there, thanks in part to help from former Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.
West's NBA career included stints with the Boston Celtics, Seattle SuperSonics, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Dallas Mavericks. He averaged 9.7 points and 3.6 assists per game over eight seasons, last playing in the 2011-12 season with Dallas.
