Former Suns PG Cameron Payne Arrested In Arizona

Former Phoenix Suns guard Cameron Payne was arrested in Scottsdale, Arizona, early Friday morning, according to TMZ.

The Scottsdale Police Department reported that officers were called to investigate a disturbance around 2:44 AM. Payne and another individual were involved.

Payne was arrested and charged with refusal to provide a truthful name and making a false report to law enforcement. He was released from custody shortly after.

Payne, 29, recently played for the Philadelphia 76ers and will be a free agent this summer. He was a key player for the Suns during their run to the 2021 NBA Finals, serving as a backup point guard to Chris Paul.

After being traded to the San Antonio Spurs and then waived, Payne joined the Milwaukee Bucks before being dealt to the 76ers near the trade deadline. He averaged 9.3 points per game last season.
