Jon Jones has responded to Dominick Reyes' recent claims about their 2020 fight. On Tuesday, the UFC heavyweight champion took to social media to address Reyes' comments about their light heavyweight title match at UFC 247.

Although Jones won the fight by unanimous decision, many fans and analysts thought Reyes deserved the win. Reyes reiterated his belief that he won during an interview with Ariel Helwani.

Jones didn't hold back on X (formerly Twitter). "What a claim to fame, almost beat Jon Jones," Jones wrote. "Got full of myself and literally couldn’t win another fight."

Since their 2020 bout, Reyes lost three fights in a row but recently bounced back by defeating Dustin Jacoby at UFC on ESPN 57.

Jones shared some advice, saying, “Dominick, when you look back at our fight, I don’t want you to ever question me or those judges. Look at your own heart, your own endurance, you didn’t do enough. The sooner you accept that, the better athlete you’ll become.”

After his victory over Reyes, Jones vacated his light heavyweight title and took a three-year break from the sport. He returned in March 2023, winning the UFC heavyweight title by defeating Ciryl Gane.

Currently, Jones is recovering from surgery for a torn pectoral muscle. He is expected to defend his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic in November.
