Boxing star Ryan Garcia was arrested on Saturday for felony vandalism after a Beverly Hills hotel accused him of causing an estimated $15,000 in damage, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department. The incident occurred at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, where a driver who dropped Garcia off called the police.

The hotel decided to press charges when the police arrived, though the specific details of the damage and Garcia's actions were not immediately clear. After being booked at the Beverly Hills Police Department jail, Garcia reportedly complained of a medical issue and was transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for evaluation and treatment.

Garcia's attorney, Darin Chavez, stated that Garcia might also face charges for public intoxication. Chavez explained that Garcia has been dealing with difficult news about his mother's health, which has added to his struggles with mental health.

"Ryan has been open about his mental health challenges and is now dealing with a heavy emotional burden," Chavez said. "We are working to provide him with the necessary resources and support. We ask for understanding and compassion as Ryan focuses on his family and health."

Garcia (25-1, 20 KOs) is also facing suspension from the New York Athletic Commission after testing positive for a banned substance before his victory over Devin Haney in April. Garcia's win could be overturned, and a decision from the commission is expected soon.
